Domeinwinkel let my domain expire even after receiving domain renewal fees in plenty of time.
Geïmporteerd van Trustpilot ↗Domeinwinkel has been the worst domain host I have ever experienced. One of the domains I won from auction ended up being placed on their platform, and while their domain renewal prices are OK, everything else about them is extremely bad. Their website is a hot mess of Dutch and (Google translated) English, the domain control is lacking many crucial settings and the support is as good as non-existent. Now, I overlooked all those red flags and continued hosting my domain there due to laziness and the fact that moving a domain requires a manual approval from their non-existing support. In May I paid the invoice for a year and everything was fine until October when I noticed the nameservers didn't match the ones I set. Very strange right? Why would they change without me changing them? Turns out the completely unprofessional Domainwinkel had happily taken the money I paid them to renew the domain, but not actually renewed it, so the domain EXPIRED and someone else picked it up. Of course during this whole process I didn't get a single email that it was about to happen. After my n'th email to support, I finally get an answer, but when they found out that the domain expired and now have a new owner thanks to their incompetence, the replies stopped. So, unless you want to keep manual track that renewals actually happen when you pay, and if they don't try your luck in contacting support, then you should use any other domain hosting company. My experience with Domeinwinkel has been a pure nightmare and I can only hope they go out of business soon enough.
